Information and Communication Technology - Guideline 94. Provision of telehealth – The practice of medicine at a distance
The institution defines a strategy for providing telehealth services in at least one discipline, including but not limited to teleradiology, teledermatology, telepathology, telepsychiatry, and remote patient monitoring.
Telehealth is an interaction between a health care provider and a patient who are separated by distance. Telehealth services are deployed either synchronously or asynchronously in order to exchange information on the diagnosis, follow up and treatment of diseases and injuries; for research and evaluation; and for the continuing education of health professionals.
