The younger generation especially has anxiety and distrust towards Japanese pension systems in society where incorrect information prevails. It is urgent to generate “positive circulation” and establish an environment where people can trust public pension systems towards the future. To reach the status, we must create the momentum that the younger generation keeps thinking about the national public pension systems and their own pensions by getting interested in the systems and deepening their understanding.

In March 2020, the coronavirus pandemic broke out in Israel.

What began as a health crisis soon turned into an economic crisis, which led many workers to go on forced unpaid leave and went to the National Insurance Institute (NII) for assistance. There was a need to find creative solutions within the limits of the law and the data available to the NII, and to find workable and quick solutions that would allow the payment of unemployment benefits to unpaid workers.

The Japan Pension Service (JPS) was established in 2010 to be a totally new organization, replacing the Social Insurance Agency (SIA) that aroused public mistrust due to its various issues. Therefore, when the JPS was established, “Ten promises to Customers” (“Ten Promises”) was created with the aim of recovering trust in pension operation.
