Podcast: Introduction to the Section on Transportation and the topic of cultural diversity at work

How does it sound, when the Secretary General of the ISSA Section on Prevention in Transportation explains the purpose and the activities of the Section? In this special podcast episode you can listen to an introduction to the work of the Section in general, followed by an introduction to the topic of cultural diversity at work, which is at the center of the Section's Symposium in May '24.

First, Dr Nadja Schilling (Head of Research & Projects at the BG Verkehr and Secretary General ISSA Section on Transportation) introduces the purpose and activities of the ISSA Section on Prevention in Transportation. The aim of the Section is to improve the work conditions for employees, reduce the number and severity of accidents and promote the international exchange of information and knowledge of suitable prevention measures between enterprises and social security organizations.

In the second half, Duncan Spencer (Head of Advice & Practice, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – IOSH) takes a deep dive into the topic of cultural diversity at work. He explains how it can have an effect on occupational health and safety. This conversation provides a sneak peek of the symposium "Cultural Diversity at Work - Safe and Healthy Integration of Skilled Workers" (27-29 May 2024, Dresden, Germany).
