The Regional Social Security Forum for Europe (RSSF Europe) is the biggest and most important social security event in the region. The Forum will take place in Porto, Portugal, 16–18 April 2024, at the invitation of the General Directorate for Social Security (Direção-Geral da Segurança Social).
Organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the RSSF Europe is a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, learning and networking, enabling participants to forge links with other leaders and professionals in social security.
For leaders and decision-makers
The RSSF Europe will bring together leaders and senior managers of ISSA member institutions in the region. Invitations will also be extended to several ministers, policymakers, experts and representatives of international and regional organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Commission (EC).
Key social security themes
The Forum will address a range of priority issues for the region. Social security reforms, administrative transformation and institutional innovations that respond to changing life-courses, labour market, economic and demographic developments will be some of the important aspects discussed. The Forum will also highlight strategies to address coverage and adequacy gaps and to meet financing challenges in social security.
ISSA Good Practice Award
The prestigious ISSA Good Practice Award for Europe and the new ISSA Special Distinction for Innovation will be presented at a Special Ceremony during the Forum. The RSSF Europe will also showcase selected innovations and good practices submitted by European social security institutions as part of the event programme.
