Holistic rehabilitation programmes, integrating care, return-to-work and social benefits, have emerged as the most promising approach to effectively meet the rising rehabilitation needs.

Since 2000, there has been an increased focus on addressing the rehabilitation needs and promoting the return to work for individuals with disabilities, driven by international and national regulations to ensure equal treatment and workplace accommodation. Two crucial policies, namely employment programmes and financial incentives, play a pivotal role in facilitating the return to work for disability insurance recipients.

In the rehabilitation context, it's essential to recognize that financial incentives within disability insurance are a key motivator for individuals with disabilities to participate in the workforce. Nudging, rooted in behavioural economics and utilizing positive reinforcement, shapes choices without imposing constraints. This approach is implemented through information campaigns or supported employment programmes, fostering a supportive environment.

Join us for this ISSA Webinar that will explore how social security institutions integrate financial incentives with nudging strategies to support individuals in returning to work. It is the ninth webinar of a series organized in collaboration with the ISSA Working Group on Rehabilitation.
