The World Congress on Rehabilitation (WCR 2024) will be organized by Rehabilitation International (RI Global), the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 23–25 September 2024.

The World Congress on Rehabilitation is one of the most important events for the international disability community. It is expected to gather more than 1,000 international experts and stakeholders in the field of the rights and inclusions for persons with disabilities.

The ISSA is co-organizing this important event for the first time, which highlights the importance and increasing role of rehabilitation in social security. Strengthening rehabilitation and promoting the active participation of persons with disabilities in the labour market are important objectives for social security institutions. The ISSA Working Group on Rehabilitation will contribute to the technical agenda of the World Congress.

Under the theme “Work & Employment”, the goal is to address the challenges and barriers that persons with disabilities face on the job market, as well as build awareness of the many global career opportunities available to the persons with disabilities. Driven by a strong belief in human potential and equality “Embracing Inclusion” is the slogan for WCR 2024.

Some of the most notable experts in the field will come together to address the challenges and discuss the opportunities on how to empower persons with disabilities in all aspects of their lives. Participants can look forward to an exciting and inspiring series of panel discussions, presentations, and specialized sessions in various fields of work, employment, training, entrepreneurship, research, studies, and other topics concerning persons with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities, experts, researchers, academics from the public and private sectors in the fields of disability rehabilitation, social security, health care and education will gather to exchange knowledge and experience and hold discussions across various technical and strategic topics, ensuring an inclusive society and empowered future for persons with disabilities globally.

Simultaneous interpretation in English, Arabic and sign language will be provided throughout the event.
