The International Social Security Association (ISSA) has launched the call for participation in the prestigious ISSA Good Practice Award competition for Asia and the Pacific 2021. ISSA members in the region are encouraged to submit their entries by 20 June 2021.
This is a unique opportunity for ISSA member organizations to present and receive recognition for their good practices in social security. The Award and Certificates of Merit are decided by an international Jury, and the results will be presented at a special ceremony during a dedicated event for ISSA members in the Asia and the Pacific region later in the year. In addition, all accepted good practices will be made available to ISSA members in the ISSA Database of Good Practices.
The benefits of participation are:
- International recognition of your performance and achievements
- Visibility on the ISSA website and newsletter
- Contribution to improving social security in your region and internationally
ISSA member institutions are invited to submit good practices in all areas of social security. It is expected that there will be a number of entries related to social security responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the ISSA Country Measures monitor, hundreds of social security responses to the pandemic from the Asia and the Pacific region have been mapped, and the COVID-19 webinars have provided an opportunity to share experiences within the region and internationally.
Since 2008, over 1,000 good practices have been submitted in the competitions. In the previous competition for the Asia and the Pacific region, which took place in 2018, the National Pension Service, Republic of Korea won the ISSA Good Practice Award for establishing one-stop services on pensions, health, employment and workers’ compensation.
