The International Social Security Association (ISSA) has released updated country profiles for the Americas. These profiles provide a summary of policy data on the parameters, financing, and administration of mandatory statutory programmes in 38 countries and territories across the continent.
The country profiles cover the nine branches of social security and include information on scheme types, relevant laws, legal coverage, financing, supervisory and administrative institutions, benefits, and qualifying conditions. They reflect the situation as of 1 January 2023.
This release for the Americas follows the earlier publication of new, more structured country profiles for Asia and the Pacific and for Africa, and will be followed by the release of new profiles for Europe.
Currently available in PDF format, the new data will in the future be integrated in a new online database, as part of ISSA’s ongoing effort to transform country profile data, offering members, researchers, experts, and policymakers a unique resource on social security systems worldwide.
