The new international Master’s in social security has kicked off, 15 managers from nine social security institutions in eight countries participating in the first programme.
The Executive Master’s in Public Performance Management and International Social Security is a joint endeavour by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), Sciences Po Bordeaux and The Forhom Institute of Egis Conseil in France. A first online session was held on 18 September 2023, and the students have now embarked on a two-year learning journey with four different academic blocks.
This first Master’s programme is organized in French, and the accepted candidates are from Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, France, Guinea, Morocco and Senegal. Entering the programme required a high level of knowledge, education and experience. Candidates were screened by a selection committee that evaluated their motivation, academic background and their managerial experience and responsibilities.
The three partners behind the Master’s aim to educate social security managers that wish to take their knowledge and skills to the next level. By bringing in high-level experts and facilitating exchanges and cooperation, they will learn, be inspired and form international networks. The objective is to support ISSA members develop and reinforce institutional and innovation capacity by contributing to the further education and knowledge development of their managers.
The ISSA will be responsible for the module focusing on social security administration and following up on the overall programme concerning the pertinence of the contents, coordination with other ISSA activities and assessment for future similar programmes.
