Prevention of Occupational Risks -
Acknowledgements

The ISSA Guidelines for Social Security Administration were prepared by the ISSA General Secretariat with the ISSA technical commissions.

The ISSA Guidelines on Prevention of Occupational Risks were produced under the auspices of the ISSA Special Commission on Prevention. The Guidelines were prepared by a team at the ISSA General Secretariat, led by Bernd Treichel. Expert support and contributions were provided by Helmut Ehnes and Peter Schrandt of the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for Raw Materials and the Chemical Industry (Berufsgenossenschaft Rohstoffe und chemische Industrie – BGRCI) and Sven Timm of the German Social Accident Insurance (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung – DGUV).

The Guidelines were updated in 2016 under the auspices of the ISSA Technical Commission on Insurance against Employment Accidents and Occupational Diseases, adding aspects on how to manage occupational diseases from a social security perspective. Contributions to this update were coordinated by Bernd Treichel and provided by Isabelle Leleu and Christine Kiefer of Eurogip, Christian Felten of the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for Transport and Traffic (Berufsgenossenschaft für Transport und Verkehrswirtschaft – BG Verkehr), Stefanie Palfner (DGUV), and Patrick Strauss of the Belgian Fund for Occupational Diseases (Fonds de maladies professionnelles – FMP).

A second revision was prepared in 2019 by Bernd Treichel with support from the ISSA Special Commission on Prevention and the ISSA Technical Commission on Insurance against Employment Accidents and Occupational Diseases. Review, commentary and other inputs were generously provided by ISSA member institutions.
