The institution ensures that there is a database for recording contributions paid over an insured worker’s lifetime, and that systematic recording processes for updating this database with contributions paid are in place.
To preserve the integrity of the social security system, it is important that a historical record is kept of contributions paid so that eligibility to eventual social security benefits can be activated – for example, for pensions.
