In the Turkish social security system, some of the in-cash benefits are temporary incapacity allowances, funeral grants, breastfeeding grants, celiac and metabolic diseases payments, and disposable Underpad Payments. Those payments are made directly to individuals’ bank accounts.
Before this project, the payment process was as follows: The payment transaction started by transferring it to the Social Security Institution (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu – SGK) accounting programme Financial Automation System Project (MOSIP), following that the necessary document checks were made through different source programmes. Moreover, these payments could only be paid during working hours after going through five different approval processes in MOSIP.
Considering the number of payment files, the increase in the workload of accounting staff caused delays in payments. With this project, the signature process has been eliminated and payments can be made at any time of the day by digitalising and simplifying whole of the process.
