The Punjab prevention strategy on safety, health and wellbeing at workplace is a new road map for achieving and implementing a prevention culture in the province of Punjab in Pakistan based on the ISSA Vision Zero Strategy. The new Vision Zero-based prevention strategy for Pakistan’s ‒ with 120 million inhabitants ‒ biggest Province Punjab was jointly developed by experts of the German Social Accident Insurance (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung – DGUV), with the support of the German Society for International Co-operation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – GIZ) together with the Labour and Human Resource Department of the Government of the Punjab (LHRD) and their associated institutes in the years 2020–2023. The new Punjab Occupational Health and Safety Strategy was officially announced by the LHRD on 28 April 2023. With this new approach, the Government of Punjab is setting quantitative targets as well as qualitative targets with a realization period of 10 years
from 2023–2032.
