“I have a future” - ONP Cultura: A digital platform to promote social security culture in Peru

Implementation year
2021

The aim is to promote social security culture in Peru, with a comprehensive strategy to reach different target audiences, such as children, adolescents, young people and adults, through different content that is hosted on different sections of the ONP Cultura landing page, set up and managed by the Pension Standardization Office (Oficina de Normalización Previsional – ONP), seeking to help citizens internalize knowledge and behaviour related to social security.

One of the sections of ONP Cultura is Sumak, a Quechua term that means fullness of life, which seeks to celebrate and value older people through content that showcases their experiences, capacities and skills and how these can have an impact on society.

As part of the strategy to promote a social security culture, in 2021 the ONP held the “I have a future” (Yo tengo un futuro) competition, involving multi-sectoral coordination with institutions linked to social protection, such as the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (Ministerio de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables – MIMP), the Ministry of Education (Ministerio de Educación – MINEDU), and the Bicentennial Special Project (Proyecto Especial Bicentenario), among others. A total of 1,379 people participated nationwide and the winning entries are published at https://onpcultura.pe/Ganadores/#/Inicio.
