The Social Insurance Fund of Costa Rica (Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social – CCSS) has established, as part of its strategic axes, a person-centered focus on health, well-being and socioeconomic protection by facilitating people’s access to digital services.
It also aims to ensure that people play a leading role in managing their health, by actively participating in decision-making and improving the quality of services.
To that end, the CCSS has given users the ability to evaluate the quality of care through the Single Digital Health Record (Expediente Único Digital en Salud – EDUS) app, in which they will be able to rate care from one to five stars based on their perception. The results are accessed by health care service managers and will help them to make decisions based on the user experience.
EDUS is a free mobile app that allows CCSS users to access key information from their electronic medical record. It is the most downloaded app in Costa Rica in the category of Health and Wellbeing and has more than 2.3 million active users.
