Panama’s Social Insurance Fund (Caja de Seguro Social de Panamá – CSS) has put in place operational models that use and develop new communication technologies through mobile devices to offer high-quality care to members. This is part of its vision to be a leading guarantor of social security in Panama and to ensure efficient, agile and timely management, for the benefit of Panamanian people.

In line with the 2019–2024 strategic plan, the administration of the Social Insurance Fund launched the CSS Mobile App, which allows members to check the availability of medicines, consult their digital file, validate their rights to care, get digital paz y salvo good standing certificates, and manage and consult maternity, member affiliation and ambulance services.

The CSS administration is strongly committed to a vision of sustainable technological development.
