Electronic document management: A corporate social responsibility approach

Implementation year
2010

Tunisia’s National Social Security Fund (Caisse nationale de sécurité sociale – CNSS) is a public company charged with managing social security schemes in the private sector. It comprises a network of 51 regional and local offices, a branch office, six policlinics and an orthopaedic fitting centre. It has three objectives:

  • Extending social security coverage.
  • Providing a high-quality service.
  • Preserving financial stability.

Since 2021, the CNSS has been working with France’s Social Agricultural Mutual Benefit Society (Mutuelle sociale agricole – MSA) on their Corporate Social and Societal Responsibility (Responsabilité sociale et sociétale des entreprises – RSSE) project, which centres on “thinking globally and acting locally”. One strand of the project is dedicated to electronic document management (EDM), since digitalization is the starting point for a corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach founded on:

  • Respect for human rights, notably social security rights (health-care and pension rights).
  • Respect for the environment: a reduced environmental footprint.
  • A new way for the CNSS to operate sustainably.
