Interactive video conference: A solution to the social distance caused by COVID-19

Implementation year
2020

All of the organizations and institutions around the world have experienced a massive and unprecedented transition from traditional interaction to online communication. In a short period of time, the spread of COVID-19 worldwide caused profound changes and created alternatives, which were previously used, but on a smaller scale, such as videoconferencing.

Millions of managers, specialists, instructors, students, colleagues, even family members worldwide started their meetings in front of a computer screen, staying at home, taking advantage of effective communication over the virtual visits, especially when face-to-face resources were not possible indefinitely.

The International Affairs Department of the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO), committed to enhance international relations, planned an innovative strategy to transform the threat of lockdowns and imposed travel bans into the opportunity of strengthening its collaboration with the outside world, through interactive videoconferencing with several meetings with our foreign partners to negotiate bilateral agreements, continue progressive consultations on memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and joint action plans.

In addition, some ISSO staff have also participated actively in the webinars as well as virtual symposia and training courses, organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
