Automated data monitoring solution to increase contribution collection and compliance

Implementation year
2020

As mandated by the constitution, the Social Security Administering Body for Health Sector of Indonesia (BPJS Kesehatan) of Indonesia has the authority to examine the compliance of employers to the social security for health programme. Some of their responsibilities include registering all workers in the programme, updating workers’ data including wages as the basis for deducting contributions, and paying monthly contributions for their workers.

Employers are obliged to submit monthly reports to BPJS Kesehatan as the basis for inspecting compliance.

Until 2019, data processing is still done manually, which was time-consuming and was done only by a few people who knew the process and analysis. In order to make the compliance inspection process more effective, BPJS Kesehatan automated data processing and analysis through a web-based application..

Significant results were achieved. The number of companies that were inspected increased by more than 15,000. There was also an increase of 52.2 million US dollars (USD) in contribution receipts as well as improved processing time of 91 per cent compared to the previous year.
