Online submission platform for letters of commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic

Implementation year
2020

Previously, pensioners’ jobless and single daughters had to pay in-person visit to the authorized official at the insurance branches of the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) and sign a letter of commitment in order to be recognized as an eligible person to receive survivors’ benefits.

Considering the COVID-19 crisis, and general approach to reducing in-person referrals to the branches in order to mitigate the risk of getting affected by the virus, both for the staff and stakeholders, it was decided to create the possibility of sending online request to the insurance branches. Submission of 2,099 requests since designing and using the platform, in less than two months, indicates a successful practice.
