Internal communication to overcome the impact of distanced workforce - Activate internal social channel to re-engage employees and maintain social bonds and belonging

Implementation year

It is more than a year now since we started applying preventive measures to control the spread of SARS-CoV-2, working from home, distancing in the offices, wearing masks in common areas, and all the other restrictions we applied like most other organizations globally.

To overcome the impact of these measures on the organization and the individuals, and to retrieve the level of engagement and belonging the team used to have, we needed to enable the team with a communication channel that is not top-down, and informal, to activate a bi-directional conversation among all employees. A platform that would include, empower and engage all employees without any barriers.

As we already have the Microsoft Office 365 license for Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF), the choice was direct and straightforward, built on Yammer platform, we launched our “Link” the internal social network where all employees would create, share and engage in daily activities.
