The ISSA offers capacity building and development opportunities for its member institutions. The Diploma training programme aims to develop staff competencies on international professional standards in social security administration based on the ISSA Guidelines.
Social security institutions looking for in-depth training on the ISSA Guidelines to build professional capacities should enrol their staff in the Diploma training courses. Participants will get a deep understanding of one of the 13 sets of ISSA Guidelines, enabling them to improve the performance and innovate within their institutions.
Onsite or e-learning
ISSA Diploma training courses can be delivered onsite or as e-learning. While onsite courses normally last one week, e-learning courses are organized as shorter sessions spread over several weeks.
The programme is offered in collaboration with the ISSA Training Consortium, a select group of accredited training institutions that offer the courses in different languages. The Diploma training is offered exclusively for ISSA members on a fee-paying basis.
Diploma training phases
Whether onsite or as e-learning, Diploma training courses consist of three phases: a preparation phase, a training phase and a post-training follow up. Participants receive a diploma based on the completion of the post-training assignment.
1. Preparation
Prior to the training phase, participants complete a set of online activities related to the set of ISSA Guidelines covered by the Diploma training course.
2. Training
Participants take part in intensive and interactive training for groups of up to 25 participants with an expert trainer, either on-site or as e-learning courses.
3. Follow-up
Participants develop and submit an assignment that will be assessed in order to obtain the diploma, and are invited to continue to exchange with other course participants.
Customized training
The ISSA is able to offer its members customized training opportunities tailored to their specific needs. Through dialogue, the ISSA and the member develop a plan for the training along with the appropriate fee. Interested parties should contact the ISSA.
