The ISSA Section on Prevention in Transportation is looking back at a successful online World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2021. In three days full of online symposia, technical sessions and numerous networking opportunities, it has been a wonderful experience to meet with the international OSH community on a global scale and exchange knowledge this way. The organizers did a fantastic job.
In the Section's online symposium The impact of digitalization on OSH in global transportation and logistics the topic was successfully brought to life in five insightful presentations that can be downloaded by clicking on the links on the side of this page. With the help of Maggie Tiong (Canada) it has been a great experience to organize this session together with our speakers Mohammed Azman (Malaysia), Sujoy Dey and Michelle Roberts (Canada), Peter Schwaighofer (Austria), Sashikala Chandrasekar (India) and Carl Heinlein (USA). Thanks to our colleagues for sharing their insights!
It is also worth mentioning, that two of our section members won a price at the International Media Festival for Prevention.
In the category "Music" our member SOCSO from Malaysia won the first prize with its song "SIFAR" (which means: ZERO). The song is about Vision Zero in the context of a road traffic accident. Congratulations to our Malaysian colleagues!
Our member Suva won the award for Best Short Movie with its video: It's good to be alive, as long as nothing bad happens. With captivating, impressively staged pictures, the Suva campaign shows work situations in which it is only by chance that no one gets hurts. This way, the campaign raises awareness of occupational safety. The core message being: no work is so important that you must risk your life or that of your employees. More information on the campaign can be found on the Suva's website (in German). Congratulations to our colleagues from Switzerland!
