The ISSA European Network (IEN) is organizing the Technical Seminar: Service delivery and technological innovation in Europe, from 21 to 22 November 2024, hosted in Istanbul by the Social Security Institution (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu − SGK) of Türkiye.
Strengthening and improving service delivery is one of the most important priorities of European social security organizations. Pursuing this objective not only involves a focus on ongoing organizational improvements, but also requires adapting to rapidly evolving external factors including social security reforms, changing life courses and shifting public expectations.
Technology has been one of the key drivers for service delivery improvements over the last decade. More recently, technological innovations building on data have opened a new chapter by enabling more than ever to put clients at the centre of the service delivery processes. An increasing number of data-driven innovations in service delivery already allow European social security organizations to be more tailored, proactive and efficient.
Over two days, this IEN Technical Seminar will cover both strategic and practical exchanges, focussing on the latest developments, highlight the promising application areas for data-driven technological innovations in service delivery and point to risks and complexities.
After a strategic introduction to recent trends in service delivery and the key contextual factors impacting on social security institutions’ service strategies, the technical seminar will present good practices and data-driven service delivery innovations, including tailored services, automation, pro-active service delivery and life course approaches. The seminar will then explore key complexities of data quality and governance, the respect of privacy and the building of institutional capacities. Looking forward, participants will then have an opportunity to reflect on “what is next” in service delivery and be inspired by the strategies of social security organizations from across Europe.
Practical information
The IEN Technical Seminar will offer simultaneous interpretation in English, French, German and Turkish. It is open to ISSA member organizations from the European region and invited participants. There is no registration fee for ISSA members.
