ISSA Focal Point for the Pacific Island Countries

TheISSA Focal Point for the Pacific Island Countries is located in Suva, Fiji, hosted by the Fiji National Provident Fund, and provides services to ISSA members.

Background

The Focal Point for the Pacific Island Countries aims to enhance the cooperation between the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and social security and provident fund institutions in the Pacific region. It is hosted by the Fiji National Provident Fund.

Objectives

The objective of the Focal Point is in particular to ensure that social security and provident fund organizations in Pacific Island countries can fully benefit from the ISSA’s broad knowledge, practical services and relevant platforms in their efforts to improve their schemes, administration and financial management. In order to pursue this objective, the Focal Point will undertake activities that ensure a regional implementation of the ISSA work programme.

Structure

The Focal Point works with ISSA member organizations and social security institutions in Australia, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
