XX World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2014
The XX World Congress on Safety and Health at Work - Global Forum for Prevention will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, 24-27 August 2014. The Congress will be co-organized by the ISSA with the International Labour Organization and hosted by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
Held every three years, the World Congress is a unique international Forum that brings together approximately 3,000 safety and health experts, decision makers from the field of social security and the public sector as well as employers' and workers' representatives from around the world to exchange ideas, research and best practices on highly topical issues in the area of Occupational Safety and Health.
The theme of this year's World Congress, Sharing a Vision for Sustainable Prevention, is fully in line with the prevention approach of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) which defines social security as a key player in addressing occupational risks, workplace health promotion and return to work. The World Congress will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the role and impact that prevention can have in the area of social security.
The Congress programme will include plenary sessions, special events and symposia. Poster presentations, industrial visits, an accompanying trade fair and the International Film and Multimedia Festival will complete the programme.
