IEN Innovation workshop: Improving service delivery in social security

18 – 19 February 2019 Amsterdam, Netherlands

The ISSA European Network (IEN) is organizing an Innovation workshop on improving service delivery in social security, from 18 to 19 February 2019 in Amsterdam, hosted by the Social Insurance Bank (Sociale Verzekeringsbank – SVB) of Netherlands.

Every day, citizens interact with various government agencies, such as social security institutions, tax authorities or the education system, making it difficult for them to get a good overview and understanding of the services offered by public organizations and how to get access to the services they need.

This IEN Innovation workshop will enable participants to envision how the services offered by various agencies could be delivered in new ways, how a centralized organization or platform could facilitate access and use by the public. It will address the potential of new technologies and authentication systems to customize the user’s experience according to their situation and needs, helping them benefit from public services. It will also look at how citizens themselves could get ownership of their data in order to ensure their accuracy and update, as well as decide on their use. It will finally consider the question of how could institutions make sure that, even in a digital age, no one is left behind and what are the solutions to keep delivering best quality services to all.

The aim of this IEN Innovation workshop is to present and discuss innovative solutions, leaving room for working groups and discussion among participants on how these new technologies and organisational models could be applied in a social security context.

The IEN Innovation workshop will be held in English and is open to ISSA member organizations from the European region. Due to the interactive nature of this event, the capacity will be limited to 30 participants, with a limit of two per member.
