28 April: World Day for Safety and Health at Work

On 28 April we celebrate the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year the World Day is devoted to "Workplace Stress: a collective challenge".

Each year, an estimated 2.3 million people die as a result of work-related causes, 160 million new cases of occupational illnesses are reported, and there are more than 300 million non-fatal accidents at work.

Social security systems actively contribute to "Vision Zero" for a world without fatal and serious occupational accidents, and support a global culture of prevention that saves lives and promotes safety, health and well-being at work.
