New ISSA Guidelines and online services to boost excellence in social security administration
The ISSA has launched a series of new resources and services to support member organizations in working towards excellence in social security administration, during a session of the World Social Security Forum.
Responding to the needs of its global membership for international best practices and personalized support for their implementation, the ISSA announced additional Guidelines for social security administration together with new online tools to facilitate access to its Centre for Excellence, and celebrated the first recipients of ISSA Recognition.
New ISSA Guidelines
Four new Guidelines for Social Security Administration were announced:
- Communication by Social Security Administrations
- Administrative Solutions for Coverage Extension
- Actuarial Work for Social Security
- Promotion of Sustainable Employment
In addition, new sections have been added to the Guidelines on Information and Communication Technology, and on the Prevention of Occupational Risks. With the presentation of the new and revised material, the Centre for Excellence now offers members access to 12 comprehensive sets of ISSA Guidelines, which are available in a number of languages.
ISSA Recognition programme
Another important milestone for the Association was marked as the first two member organizations received formal ISSA Recognition for their successful application of ISSA Guidelines.
The two member organizations, the Bank Employees' Pension Fund (Uruguay) and the Social Security Organisation (Malaysia), were given an ISSA certificate of excellence recognizing their application of the ISSA Guidelines on Contribution Collection and Compliance.
The ISSA Recognition programme offers formal evaluation by the ISSA of the implementation of the ISSA Guidelines. The process for obtaining ISSA Recognition consists of an assessment of an institution's compliance with the Guidelines, carried out by independent experts.
New online communication tools
ISSA members now have a choice on how to access the new and existing Guidelines and other member services of the Centre for Excellence. A redesigned website for the Centre was presented at the Forum, with improved navigation and access to the knowledge base for each Guideline.
The ISSA’s first ever app was also launched, providing members with personalized access to the Guidelines, Academy events and other content of the Centre for Excellence for mobile devices. The app is available for both Apple and Android mobile phones and tablets, and can be downloaded via the ISSA website. Additional content and functionalities will be introduced in 2017.
