The Global Extension of Social Security (GESS) is a global knowledge-sharing platform on the extension of social security, developed and run by the International Labour Organization's Social Security Department. GESS provides an international interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing environment and technical assistance services for the extension of social security. The EU's Mutual Information System on Social Protection (MISSOC) provides detailed, comparable and regularly updated information about national social protection systems for the 28 EU Member States plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The MISSOC Tables Database contains detailed information on 12 main social protection areas presented in the form of comparative tables.
