Die digitale Wirtschaft verändert unseren Alltag und die Art, wie wir arbeiten und leben, tiefgreifend.

Die Beobachtungsstelle der sozialen Sicherheit liefert den IVSS-Mitgliedern Wissen über die Chancen und Herausforderungen der digitalen Wirtschaft für die Verwaltungen der sozialen Sicherheit.

Sie beleuchtet diesen Wandel aus zwei Blickwinkeln: Einerseits betrachtet sie das sich verändernde Umfeld, in dem die Institutionen der sozialen Sicherheit operieren, und andererseits stellt sie die Frage, wie die Institutionen der sozialen Sicherheit selbst von den Herausforderungen betroffen sind und wie sie darauf reagieren können.

Die IVSS hat die verschiedenen Fragen im Zusammenhang mit der digitalen Wirtschaft und ihren Auswirkungen auf die soziale Sicherheit zusammengefasst.

Dieser „Ausblick in die Zukunft“ beruht auf der Arbeit der IVSS-Fachausschüsse, auf den Ergebnissen von IVSS-Konferenzen und -Veranstaltungen, auf Mitgliederumfragen, Beispielen guter Praxis, Literaturrecherchen, Forschungsarbeiten und Inputs externer Experten.

Impact Insurance (dec 2017) Since May 2017, the ILO´s Impact Insurance Facility has been working in partnership with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in Ghana. The project aims to expand population coverage of the National Health Insurance Scheme by designing a simplified user-friendly digital renewal process.

Lexology (05.02.2018) The Statutory Accident Insurance (Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung) has recently argued that operators of internet platforms such as Uber, Airbnb and MyHammer should be included in the accident insurance system like any other employer. Accident insurance is one branch of the social security system in Germany, the contributions to which are traditionally shared between employer and employee. It covers costs for the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases (insured events) and the compensation of damage after the occurrence of an insured event. Costs are ultimately borne entirely by the employers in a pay-as-you-go system, depending also on the risk level of the work performed by their employees. However, independent contractors are not covered by this system.
