"Prevention is better than cure" is an old proverb with crucial relevance today. Emphasizing prevention within social health insurance promotes equitable access to health care, benefiting both individuals and society by fostering longer, healthier lives.
Social security institutions play a key role in health screening and prevention, aiming to reduce disease burden, improve health care access, and lower costs. They engage in national health programmes, educational campaigns, and collaborate with health care authorities to promote screenings and healthy behaviours.
By integrating preventive services through financial support and digital tools, social security institutions can contribute to enhancing the affordability and sustainability of health care. Regular assessment and improvement of these efforts are necessary.
Join us for this ISSA webinar focussing on the role of social security in promoting prevention in health care, organized in collaboration with the ISSA Technical Commission on Medical Care and Sickness Insurance.
