Social security institutions play a critical role in health screening and prevention efforts that aim to reduce disease burden, improve access to health care and reduce health care costs.

They participate directly in national health programmes and educational campaigns and work with health care authorities and providers in encouraging people to participate in vaccination and screening programmes, and to have healthy behaviours.

It is essential to assess the effectiveness of health prevention efforts, and to identify and address implementation and sustainability barriers. Factors to be considered include the scope, accessibility and outcomes of screening measures.

Financial support and collaboration with health care providers to integrate preventive services into routine care, ensuring timely interventions, aim to make health care more affordable and financially sustainable.
