The ISSA Focal Point for French-speaking Countries promotes cooperation and networking in social security worldwide and supports the ISSA by promoting the Association's products and services, organising events and facilitating the exchange of good practices between French-speaking social security institutions.
It plays a key role in the exchange of knowledge and the development of technical cooperation between countries where French is an official or common language. It coordinates a programme of activities designed to respond to the specific needs and priorities of the social security agencies of these countries and aims to promote French as one of the working languages of the ISSA.
The social security systems of the members of this Focal Point show different degrees of maturity, both in terms of the branches of social security and cross-cutting issues (governance, investments, etc.). The Focal Point for French-speaking Countries therefore offers a unique space for dialogue and collaboration between the world's French-speaking social security institutions, in order to achieve the objectives of universal social security coverage and good governance of social security administrations. In addition, the Focal Point for French-speaking Countries aims to address issues common to its members, such as social security coverage for immigrants.
