ISSA Liaison Office for Central Africa
The ISSA Liaison Office for Central Africa provides services to ISSA member organizations and collaborates with social security organizations in Angola, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe.

Background

To better serve the diverse needs and priorities of the Association’s membership, more effective structures are being developed to ensure the successful targeting and delivery of ISSA’s programme at the regional level by providing an optimum response to the priorities and challenges specific to the different regions/subregions.

Objectives

The principal task of the Liaison Office is to enhance and increase the number and scope of activities in the region. The main method is through the organization of small scale, focused technical seminars with the two fold goal of contributing to the priority outcomes of the Association and providing platforms for in depth knowledge sharing on major issues facing countries in the region.

Each region/subregion which has adopted the new regional structure has established its own workplan formulated by a Steering Committee in close cooperation with the ISSA General Secretariat. The Steering Committee is made up of Chief Executive Officers from member organizations in each region/subregion whose work is guided by a chairperson selected by the committee.
