Linkages between statutory social security schemes and community-based social protection mechanisms

Innovative integrated strategies to extend social health protection through linkages between statutory social security schemes and informal sector or community-based schemes will be discussed based on the results of a study of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Association of Mutual Benefit Societies (AIM), undertaken within the Global Alliance on the Extension of Coverage on the actual and potential impact of financial, operational, governance, health service provision and policy linkages.
