Raising the retirement age as an answer to adequacy issues in defined contribution systems – the Polish case study
Eliminating poverty in old age: Is social security the answer?
The aim of this paper is to analyse adequacy problems in defined contribution systems and the impact of raising the retirement age based on the Polish example. Calculations cited were performed by the Polish Social Insurance Institution (Zaklad Ubezpieczen Spolecznych – ZUS).

Raising the retirement age together with an employment policy adapted to older workers, seems to be the best solution to improve adequacy without jeopardising sustainability.
