Linking pensions to inflation
The Social Security Corporation (SSC) has a keen interest and focus on expanding the scope of social protection, endorsing equitable treatment of all retirees and protecting living standards of retirees and their families. It therefore established the Social Security Law No. (7) of 2010 to link old-age, as well as disability and survivor pensions to the annual inflation rate, which is based on the increase in average wages and the increase in the Consumer Price Index for the elderly (CPI-E).
