Regulatory Framework
2007: Law No 26222 Integrated Pension System (Sistema Integrado de Jubilaciones y Pensiones - SIJP), introduces the possibility of transferring from the funded to the PAYG scheme, regulates fees and modifies the financing of survivorship and disability benefits.
1993: Law No 24241; creates the Integrated Pension System which introduces the system of private pensions combined with a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) scheme, regulates the establishment and operation of Pension Fund Administrators (Administradoras de Fondos de Jubilaciones y Pensiones - AFJPs), creates the Superintendency of AFJPs (Superintendencia de Administradoras de Fondos de Jubilaciones y Pensiones - SAFJP), regulates asset management, and establishes the protection of pension rights.
