The Regional Social Security Forum for Asia and the Pacific will provide a privileged platform for social security policy-makers, CEOs, senior managers, researchers and representatives of regional and international organizations to analyse and debate the central role of social security for the Asia and Pacific region.
There is now widespread recognition of the essential contribution of social security to meeting wider developmental goals. Governments in Asia and the Pacific have embraced social protection as a means to address poverty and inequality and to promote the general health and well-being of their citizens.
The Forum will offer an opportunity to debate ways and measures towards dynamic social security in the region’s diverse contexts and will be an important milestone towards the World Social Security Forum, which will take place in Qatar in 2013.
The Regional Social Security Forum for Asia and the Pacific is open to ISSA members from the region and invited participants only.
