ISSA, 14.10.2009 - 15.10.2009 | Budapest, Hungary
Opening session

Opening session of the European Technical Seminar on Pension Administration. Speaker: Dr. Gábor Barát, General Director of the Central Administration of the National Pension Insurance of Hungary (ONYF).

A Technical Seminar on Improving Administrative Efficiency in the Statutory State Pension Schemes was held in Budapest, Hungary, 15-16 October 2009. The event was organized by the Central Administration of the National Pension Insurance of Hungary for the members of the ISSA European Network.

Administrative and operational efficiency is one of the most important issues facing social insurance organizations worldwide. Cost efficiency as well as rationalization of administrative processes and performance improvements are significant objectives for all social security schemes, including statutory state pension schemes. An increasing number of countries are faced with the dilemma of striking a balance between the quality of services provided for the beneficiaries and a more rational and effective operation of the administration of pension schemes.

The Technical Seminar allowed an exchange of experiences on measures adopted by statutory state pension schemes and on possible responses to specific challenges.
