To better serve the diverse needs and priorities of the Association’s membership, new structures are being developed to ensure the successful targeting and delivery of ISSA’s programme at the sub-regional level by focusing on the priorities and challenges specific to various regions and language groups.
The Focal Point for East Africa aims to develop ISSA's outreach and respond to the need for developing targeted activities for ISSA member organizations in East Africa. The Focal Point will use English as its working language. The Focal Point promotes cooperation and the exchange of social security information and knowledge on issues of interest to member organizations in East Africa in order to further support the development of social security in the region.
The Focal Point works with ISSA member organizations and social security institutions in Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, the United Republic of Tanzania and Uganda.
