During the previous Strategy Conference in February 2011 the participants identified five core topics (“pillars”) to serve as a common frame of reference for implementing health and safety strategies. At the 3rd Strategy Conference we will move beyond these pillars: we will provide a network for stakeholders from different policy areas to reflect on and to discuss the most relevant core topics and we will identify where their various views intersect.
Core topics of the next Strategy Conference will be:
Stakeholders from the following policy areas will exchange their views:
The participants will share their views on the topics at all three levels of prevention: the primary, secondary and tertiary level. The first outcome of the conference will be a matrix of perspectives covering the three topics and the three policy areas.
The second goal is to describe how a strong network can support the implementation of policies, strategies and guidelines. Building and maintaining networks, joining existing networks or interaction between networks could be the key to reaching a critical mass that causes a societal shift such as that needed for a culture of prevention.
In addition, the International Strategy Conference in 2013 will act as a building block in preparation of the XX World Congress for Safety and Health at Work which will take place from 24 to 27 August 2014 in Frankfurt, Germany.
