100e session de la Conférence internationale du Travail
The 100th Session of the International Labour Conference, which involves delegates from the 183 member States of the International Labour Organization, includes a priority focus on the strategic objective of social security this year, as recommendations for a universal Social Protection Floor are being considered.
The ISSA Secretary General recognized that the debates at the ILC are expected "to provide significant guidance and impetus for strengthening worldwide efforts to extend social security coverage," and he urged delegates to rise to the challenges and reiterated the commitment of the ISSA to work closely with the ILO in implementing effective strategies.
"Based on the strong complementarities between the ILO and the ISSA strategies, we look forward to opening a new chapter in our mutual institutional relations," the Secretary General stated.
"I am convinced that with the ILO and the ISSA working hand in hand on the policy and administrative bases for dynamic, adequate and sustainable social security schemes, we can make a real difference for the billions of people that are still without adequate social security protection," Mr Konkolewsky said.
