V International Symposium on Electrical Safety – SISE

The international symposium was organized by the ISSA Electricity Section in cooperation with the National University of Asunción – UNA – and the Paraguayan-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The objective of the symposium was to bring together experts, professionals, employers and employees in prevention and occupational safety and to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

This was successfully achieved by the presence of international experts from 8 countries form America, Europe and Asia. The 5th international conference on safety and health in the electricity sector was officially inaugurated by the vice president of the Republic of Paraguay, a number of national Paraguayan and academic authorities which welcomed over 310 participants. The symposium was concluded by a technical visit of the Itapú hydroelectric power plant which is the largest development of its kind in operation in Latin America.
