Electrical experts are dealing with great amounts of energy. They often have to work on plants which ensure the power supply of factories, towns and even of entire regions of a country.
Although electrical accidents are relatively rare, amounting to less than 1% of the total accident rate in most countries, the percentage of the fatal accidents due to electricity is considerable, ranging up to 45% in different countries.
This is reason enough to handle this invisible hazard with utmost caution.
There are some precise rules at the disposal of the electrical expert which, as long as they are strictly observed provide full protection against electrical hazards and the accidents and injuries that they may cause.
In the following pages these 5 Safety Rules are explained, commented upon and illustrated with the aim of providing practical information for specific working situations for you, the electrical expert.
