Summary of findings 2008-2010
In view of the rising prevalence of chronic diseases worldwide, the Technical Commission on Medical Care and Sickness Insurance of the ISSA decided to work on the topic of "adapting social security health care systems to trends in chronic disease".
A specific interest of the Commission, which brings together ISSA member institutions administering social security health care schemes, has been the changing role of social security health care institutions as part of strategies to cope with the challenges created by trends in chronic disease.
