Dynamic Social Security for Asia and the Pacific: Integrated Responses for More Equitable Growth

Social security facing world upheaval

Based on the work of the monitoring system (Système Vigie) developed by Futuribles International, this intervention will focus on the interpretation of the crisis in the global economy underlining that it reflects a radical change in the global geopolitical scene.

This change creates a major challenge to fundamentally rethink our social safety nets without violating the values upon which they were developed, principally in the West. The transition of the epicentre of the global economy from the Atlantic towards the Pacific and emerging markets will be particularly highlighted, as well as the risks of social dumping and how to address them.
