Child Support extended to children under 18
国家/地区: South Africa

The South African government has finally taken a decision to progressively extend the child support grant to children until they are 18 years of age.

The child support grant is an income support provided to children from poorer households on monthly basis. The current policy allowed for children under the age of 15 years to qualify and there are 10 million children benefiting from this support. More than 2 million additional children would now qualify as a result of this extension which will be phased over a three year period beginning in January 2010.
