This Forum provided a key platform for information and exchange on the most important regional social security trends and priority issues in the Americas. A unique networking opportunity, the Forum brought together social security administrators, policymakers and international and regional organizations and fostered debate on the important contribution that social security can make towards the economic and social challenges facing the region of the Americas.
The ISSA vision and objective of Dynamic Social Security framed the deliberations of all sessions. This concept is based on the development of high performing and outcome-oriented social security administration with adequate coverage which is inclusive and productive. The Forum offered an opportunity to debate ways and measures towards dynamic social security in the region’s pluralistic contexts and was an important milestone towards the World Social Security Forum taking place in South Africa from 29 November to 4 December 2010.
